Happy user here, with a working Hybrid-CoreXY setup, using mainline Klipper, for many months:

> **[GitHub - zruncho3d/double-dragon: Double Dragon: world's smallest IDEX 3D...](https://github.com/zruncho3d/double-dragon)**

> Double Dragon: world's smallest IDEX 3D printer. Mod your Voron 0 or build one fresh! - GitHub - zruncho3d/double-dragon: Double Dragon: world's smallest IDEX 3D printer. Mod your Voron 0...

Now, I’m looking at trying something fundamentally different to get two carriages, though: two parallel CoreXY gantries. But the [dual\_carriage] option seems IDEX-specific, vs Dual CoreXY.

**Does anyone have any pointers to something the exists in this direction w/Klipper?** If not… any sense for the amount of work this would require?

There’s some related stuff, but I couldn’t find anything.

Something more than “see docs/Code\_Overview.md” is what I’m hoping for.

It seems like Duet2+Duex5 already support this setup, but I’d rather stick with Klipper if possible, for CAN toolhead support and general affordability.

Replying to my own thread, since nobody replied originally:

I’ve released a full open-source design for a Dual CoreXY printer, called Dueling Zero.

> **[GitHub - zruncho3d/DuelingZero: Dueling Zero - a Dual Gantry V0 mod. Enable...](https://github.com/zruncho3d/DuelingZero/)**

It prints, and with Tircown’s help I was able to get a proper Klipper implementation working.

Woo.

Looks great, will join the discussion as I’m planning to implement the same kinematics to a VzBoT 330 style printer.

As long there is no other solution actually for IDEX on CoreXY, it is a good alternative. Especially because you have more usable space on the X axis…

What do you mean “no other solution”? IDEX via hybrid-corexy has worked fine on Klipper, out of the box, for a long time.

After seeing the designs for the double dragon, and the internal spool holder mod for the Trident, and now Prusa’s new Core One, I have this idea for a scaled up version of a cross between the a dueling dragon / double dragon and the trident along with ideas from the new Prusa. Basicly, a 250mm sized ‘dragon’ with two internal spool holders and the triple z screwed bed of the trident built with 2020, 2040, and 4040 extrusions where applicable. Would copy the Prusa’s cooling and heating ideas, throwing in a ‘Nevermore’ and Pi-cam into the mix. Electronics could use two nighthawks and an skr mini E3, or just two skr mini’s with hawk tool head boards, (plus some flavor of Rpi of course). A midi sized 180mm build is also a possibility.

I’ve been using dual internal spool holders on Dueling Zero for awhile, and I’m pretty happy with them. Keeps filament dry and reduces space needed.

Can you post some pix of that?
