### Basic Information:

Printer Model: JG Maker Artist-D IDEX
 MCU / Printerboard: MKS Robin Pro
[klippy.log](https://klipper.discourse.group/uploads/short-url/muxWLrUpr1TrpWVabz0OXqHWRL7.log) (873.0 KB)
Printer Config:
[printer (1).cfg](https://klipper.discourse.group/uploads/short-url/e7dlCPKeaLkwYDfLKuHL9pHimO0.cfg) (8.9 KB)

### Describe your issue:

The printer motherboard does not reset / reboot when firmware restart is called, and it gives an error until I reset the printer manually.

I added GPIO startup pin as !PA14 on the J-Tag as I understood it should be, but it did not work like other reported for the MKS Robin E3.

Thanks,

I found the answer here finally.

> Any time I do a FIRMWARE\_RESTART or something that causes a disconnect like tryi…ng to move before homing axis, I cannot get it reconnected except by disconnecting USB, power cycling the printer, and restarting the klipper service. Everything else seems to be working correctly. Below are the details of the printer, board, and menuconfig.

Just add restart\_method: command to [mcu}

[mcu]
serial: /dev/serial/by-id/usb-1a86\_USB\_Serial-if00-port0
restart\_method: command
