### Basic Information:

Printer Model: Ender 5 pro
 MCU / Printerboard:SKR min E3 V2
 `klippy.log`
[klippy.log](https://klipper.discourse.group/uploads/short-url/bC4KLfjRhS6iOYfJYiSWM4qlZvG.log) (80.9 KB)

_Fill out above information and in all cases attach your_ `klippy.log` _file. Pasting your_ `printer.cfg` _is **not** needed_

### Describe your issue:

I print the squre\_klipper\_test, the fist layer is OK the second one is shifted 4 cm in the x axe.

Also when I connect my printer I need to reset firmware, if not I’ ve got an error when I click on “get status” in Octoklipper and printer shutdown
Help me.
Thanks

Some comments:

- What is the reason to use `baud = 230400`. The default should work fine and is the most stable one
- Your `run_current` settings seem exceptionally low (this could potentially lead to layer shifts). See [Hold\_current and run\_current -- TMC2209 - #5 by Sineos](https://klipper.discourse.group/t/hold-current-and-run-current-tmc2209/1171/5) for some more information
- `square_corner_velocity` should be left default 5 unless you have good reason to change

Apart from too low current = low torque, such shifts are often the result of binding axes or similar mechanical issues.

Thanks Sineos,
I will put baud to default and modify my Hold and run\_current.
I’ll try it tomorrow.

Just realized that the link above contains some outdated information: `hold_current` is not any longer recommend to be used. The switch between `hold_current` and `run_current` can cause accuracy issues.

I try different run\_current, nothing is OK even the fisrt layer now and have many errors.

I think I revert to Marlin, Klipper is not for Ender 5 pro.

Thanks for your help
Bye…

This is of course entirely your decision.
Just as a remark:
Your log does show serious errors with your TMC drivers. These errors have nothing to do with Klipper but are reported by your hardware.
Klipper reacts very strict to them because they have a reason while Marlin often ignores them which then later can lead to effects that are virtually impossible to diagnose.

Klipper runs perfectly well on an Ender 5, I own one myself

Looks like you have a short on your X-stepper cabling.
This will lead to problems with Marlin as well.

If you are not just copying someone else’ config then you need to know your printer and how it works.
That is the same for Marlin, Klipper and other Firmwares.
So it is up to you!

I have no problem with my driver under Marlin, when the errors are when I put a too big run\_current I don’t understand I reboot the raspberry and after the errors disappears I run one home OK, I run a print error on the home, very strange.
Can you share with me your printer.cfg?
I wil try again.
Thanks for your help

I will test my x stepper cabling.
I never had this problem with Marlin,
I make my own config and I know my printer.
Thanks for helping

Unfortunately makes no sense because you have a different setup, e.g. using a SKR min E3 V2 board. Generally speaking:

- Your config looks OK but you can cross-check with
  - [https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/blob/master/config/generic-bigtreetech-skr-mini-e3-v2.0.cfg](https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/blob/master/config/generic-bigtreetech-skr-mini-e3-v2.0.cfg) for the board definition
  - [https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/blob/master/config/printer-creality-ender5pro-2020.cfg](https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/blob/master/config/printer-creality-ender5pro-2020.cfg) for some machine specific information
  - The SKR definition should be your basis

- Get the specs of your stepper motors and follow the directions given here [Hold\_current and run\_current -- TMC2209 - #5 by Sineos](https://klipper.discourse.group/t/hold-current-and-run-current-tmc2209/1171/5) to properly set the current
- Any TMC related errors like `DRV_STATUS: c0170090 s2vsa=1(LowSideShort_A!) olb=1(OpenLoad_B!) cs_actual=23 stealth=1 stst=1` point to a serious hardware issue and should really be solved (also Marlin will not safe you here even if Marlin ignores some of these errors silently). Also see [TMC drivers - Klipper documentation](https://www.klipper3d.org/TMC_Drivers.html#why-did-i-get-a-tmc-reports-error-error)

Thank you for all these informations.
I have tested my x motor, like Life of Brian tells and there’s a problem on a coil.
I have ordered a new one, I am waiting for it.
For my configuration I 've doing exactly you tell me to do.
Wait and see.
Thanks Sineos and LifeOfBrian.
Merry Christmas and happy new year.

Now all is working with new stepper motor.
Thanks for all
