# How to print from an sd card?

### Basic Information:

Printer Model: ender 3 pro  
 MCU / Printerboard: 4.2.2  
 Host / SBC btt pi v1.2  
 klippy.log

_Fill out above information and_ **_in all cases attach your_ `klippy.log` _file_** (use zip to compress it, if too big). _Pasting your_ `printer.cfg` _is **not** needed_  
_ **Be sure to check our “Knowledge Base” Category first. Most relevant items, e.g. error messages, are covered there** _

Probably an easy one for someone.

I got 3 printers on klipper and mainsail running off a btt pi v1.2. currently using the virtual sd card to upload and print. However i want to revert back and print from an sd card on all three printers.

Any solutions would be great.

Hi @Klitter

You can plug an SD card into your Pi using a USB adapter, and change the `path` parameter in your `virtual_sdcard` section.

I would not recommend printing from the board’s SD card as this will introduce some drawbacks. The virtual SD card feature has been introduced to exactly avoid these drawbacks.

One solution might be printing from a USB drive. See [Print from USB Drive - Draft](https://klipper.discourse.group/t/print-from-usb-drive-draft/20771) for a solution I use on my side.
