# Regression in dynamic PA

Also an open question is what the PA should actually depend on. Extruder velocity is likely one of them. Dependency of the PA on acceleration was reported e.g. previously somewhere in this [thread](https://klipper.discourse.group/t/modification-of-pressure-advance-for-high-speed-bowden-printers/13053), but honestly what was unclear to me at the time is whether the PA actually depends on the acceleration, or that, perhaps, the default `smooth_time = 0.04` in Klipper is [too high](https://klipper.discourse.group/t/pressure-advance-smooth-time-on-direct-extruders-with-short-filament-path/1971) for modern hotends and printers, and first thing to test would be to reducing it and checking whether the dependency of PA on acceleration would go away.
