What is your point? Can you please explain that more detailed?
is there a way to connect octopus pro to linux based old desktop motherboard via different communication port than usbc? i was trying to change settings in firmware build, yet with no success.
You might post a picture “and USBC port unsoldered from the board”.
USB-C on the Octopus, USB-A on the RPi. Ethernet on your old desktop motherboard, Ethernet on the RPi.
I guess your problem is this BIGTREETECH Octopus Pro STM32F429 | RatOS
I don’t really get your problem!
If I don’t understand you, please explain your problem more detailed.
Good luck, hcet14
You can use an USB to TTL adapter
- The USB side goes into your mainboard
- The TTL side on your printer board
See Connect SKR 1.4 Turbo and RPi3 using RX, TX, GND (UART) · Issue #2913 · Klipper3d/klipper · GitHub to get an idea what is involved
Can I ask what is your “old desktop motherboard”?
USB A or USB C connectors shouldn’t be part of the discussion - you’re going to communicate with the controller board with the CDC protocol (which goes back to USB 1.0) so it doesn’t matter what connector you’re using.
I’m asking because I feel like there’s something more here.
