If you want the unit to function independently of the printer, then Happy Hare probably wouldn’t be best.

I have tried a MMU that doesn’t integrate with the printer before (3DChameleon), and it was way to unreliable, since it couldn’t communicate with the printer about filament sensors, filament position, etc. That’s why I ended up creating the 3MS.

ok, then i will just create my own
although for communicating back, I was thinking of implementing a feature that marlin already has. host action commands

as I can tell klipper via the communication if the filament ran out, which filaments are available, etc.
