my team at neolabs enterprise started creating a new simple unit similar to the ams.
presenting the YAMmS(yet another multimaterial system)
it will feature 4 motors paired with sensors and an LCD to show what is loaded and what is not. the design will be the most simple it can be to reduce complications when servicing it.
it will communicate to klipper via a USB cable and utilize happy hare to function. it will also have its own plugin for firmware updates and to control LCD features.
the chassis design will be similar to the ams, it will hold 4 spools and 4 inserts for the filament.
we are planning to sell kits after we finish the design. it will come with the motherboard, USB cable, LCD, 4 steppers and sensors, and ribbon cables to connect everything. the chassis is printable and the user will be able to print it and add onto it to fit their needs.
any help during the production process will be appreciated.

My team at NEOLabs Enterprise started working on a new multi material device reasembling other 3d printing companies solutions.
this idea is in the firmware stage, any help would be appreciated.
presenting the YAMmS(Yet Another Multimaterial System)
a simple 4 stepper+sensor build your own multilateral printing solution. what differentiates this from other open source devices is the chassis design, it can hold 4 spools as if it was the ams, and can support an enclosure for those who want to keep their filament dry. it will feature an LCD screen to display which filament is loaded, which is not, and any errors that might arise.
we have decided to once finished, sell the kits to build it yourself. it will include the motherboard, motors and sensors, and optional plexiglass for those who want the enclosure. the user will get the ability to 3d print their own chassis and remix it to fit their needs.
for integration with klipper, we are planning to use a custom plugin for klipper, and connect it directly to the pi via USB. we are also planning to do update the device using the serial connection via the klipper interface.
the project will be 100% open sourced and licensed under gpl3.0
