Trademark/Brand Temp Sensor Type

Hello,

How can I determine the trademark/brand of the temp sensor type, hot end , heat bed in my 3d printer, as I don’t have any documentation? Thanks for any tip.

  • Regular printers all use some kind of NTC
  • Without the proper documentation / spec sheet you will not get the exact values
  • Klipper’s sensor type Generic 3950 will provide good enough values for standard NTCs

To be honest, I would not bother too much, because:

  • For the hotend you typically anyway tune the temperature for a given filament with respective test-prints → So if you get a proper quality with your sensor at 235 °C, then who cares if it was 238 °C against a calibrated 1000$ lab thermometer
  • Heat bed temperature has even less impact

If you need / want comparable and half-way exact temp reading then switch to 4-wire PT100 on a MAX31865 amplifier board
