Attaching Anycubic Chiron to BTT SKR Mini E3 V3

Basic Information:

Printer Model: Anycubic Chiron
MCU / Printerboard: BTT SKR Mini E3 V3
Host / SBC: Raspberry Pi Zero 2W
klippy.log: not applicable

This post is a followup to my first post about Klipperizing my Anycubic Chiron. In that post @mykepredko recommended I switch from the stock Trigorilla board to a BTT SKR Mini E3 V3. After following that advice I am now at another roadblock while attempting to connect all the wires from the Chiron to the SKR mini.

Overview of what I’ve attached so far. Powers on w/o exploding.

Issues:

In no particular order, the issues are as follows:

  • Z-stop sensors are 3-wire, but SKR mini only has a single 2-wire connection spot:

  • SKR mini bed heater (H1) seems designed for switching full power of the bed heater, but the Chiron has a separate relay board for controlling the bed heater:

  • Chiron bundles the hot end heater, hot end thermostat, X-stop, & homing sensor through a 8-wire cable. SKR mini (reasonably) expects these to be separate connectors:

  • Chiron LCD uses proprietary 5-wire connector. SKR mini does not appear to support this unit & everyone online suggests replacing w/ BTT TFT35. For my purposes the touch screen is low priority, so I’m skipping this for now.

I am not sure how to go about diagnosing or otherwise finding the answers to these issues. Search results have been unfruitful, but I doubt I’m the first person to attempt attaching a Chiron to a BTT SKR Mini.

Cheers

Apparently “new users can only put one embedded media item in a post” so I’ll have to break this out

NOTE: control wire is the 2-wire connector right by my finger in the pic

Another view of the heater relay control board.
Control wire is to the left in this pic. Large wires to the right are from power supply unit.

8-pin cable 2/4

8-wire cable 3/4
