Cartographer Error: Section 'scanner' is not a valid config section

Basic Information:

Printer Model: N/A (bench testing new setup)
MCU / Printerboard: SKR Pico
Host / SBC: OrangePi zero 2w
klippy.log

klippy (1).log (5.5 MB)

Describe your issue:

I’m having trouble setting up my Cartographer probe. Cartographer 3D’s setup info and help section leave a lot to be desired.

Havok846 posted about this same thing back in May. He said he figured out that an install file was placed in the wrong folder. I’m hoping he can tell me which install file was in which folder and where it needed to be moved to.

You only got that error until you extended Klipper with cartographer. (Line 41789)
After that you get the error

mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the
"FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the
config, and restart the host software.
Error configuring printer

After that, you removed the cartographer extension, and the error reappeared.

I don’t think I’m seeing what you’re seeing in the log.

If you’re talking about relabeling “cartographer” as “scanner” that’s because I get other errors like “Option ‘sensor’ is not valid in section ‘cartographer’“ if I label the MCU and section as “cartographer”. The info I’ve found indicates that is due to “cartographer” being the outdated label.

Hi @eastwest06 ,

I would ask this on the Cartographer Discord.
