Ender 3v2 Klipper lost connection to MCU

When doing long running prints 3 days + sometimes the print fails after about 2 days having lost connection to MCU. I’ve replaced the USB with one that is supposedly 100% 2.0 compliant being fully shielded and includes a ferrite core, it’s 18 inches long so fairly short, I block the 5v power with electrical tape over the pin. The printer is on a UPS. I’ve been lucky and a couple of times this issue has occurred I’ve been by the printer to witness it. Each time I’ve witnessed the crash a different device in the room was either powered on or off. This device is not always even on the same breaker in the house, so it could be coincidence.

This printer has completed prints that have taken over 3 days, so this issue does seem to be intermittent.

I’ve inspected the mainboard and it has no noticeable damages.

My latest attempt to resolve the issue myself is I’ve updated Klipper on the rpi and compiled klipper and re-flashed the MCU.

I have had the same problem. It would disconnect only with a specific gcode file. I tried laminating it again by modifying Cura parameters. I tried to cover the 5v of the cable, fix the USB cable at the end (in my case with a sonic pad). I changed the power supply and removed the webcam. None of that worked in my case, in the end I managed to print it by reducing the maximum acceleration in the “printer.cfg” file. I also think it helped to put ferrite cores in the cable but I can’t prove it.

Hello @lockhard !

and the changes with Klipper during that time, I recommend to open a new thread with all requested informations.
