Heightmap display and diagnostic

I’m not sure about others but within the fluidd/mainsail display it would be extremely beneficial to have the ‘active’ bed mesh displayed.

As a further benefit, if the current Z offset from the height map could also be displayed this would confirm for users troubleshooting issues that the bed mesh is active and what the current offset being applied actually is. As this could interfere with the realtime aspect I imagine that this option would be better suited for diagnostics rather than an ‘always active’ displayed value.

Anybody aware of the ability to display this that I have not run across yet in the documentation or forums?

I’m not sure that I understand what you are reporting. Both Mainsail and fluidd have this, e.g. Bed Mesh | Mainsail

In addition the “live” z-view on the dashboards is showing the real z-value that includes the mesh compensation.

Thank you Sineos, let me hopefully clarify.

Yes, well aware that you can see the probed heightmap from within the interface.
What I am referring to is on the primary dashboard during program execution.

Specifically, adding a new tab along the lines of ‘Extruder’ or ‘ToolHead’
This tab header would display the ‘Active Bed Mesh’, optionally, underneath this header, the display of the interpolated bed mesh compensation against the active bed mesh.

While the ‘live’ Z view may display the compensated value, it is quite useless unless you have a reference to the g-codes native Z value.

Instead, having the potentially the ‘commanded’ + height map offsets displayed (During program execution) would assist when troubleshooting.

Given the number of forum posts with questions on if the height map is active, fairly sure I am not alone in wanting to validate the active mesh.
