Inconsistent E-Steps

Basic Information:

Fill out above information and in all cases attach your klippy.log file (use zip to compress it, if too big). Pasting your printer.cfg is not needed

Describe your issue:

Following the Ellis Tuning Guide, I get inconsistent measurements doing the E-Steps. They were;
14.16
14.14
14.51
14.93
14.01
So I used an average which was 14.35. Is this kind of variation normal and is using an average the best strategy?

Thanks!

No idea from anyone?

What are you referring to with the numbers you are showing above?

Generally speaking, a well working extruder has a very high precision and except for the inherent measurement error the resulting extrusion distances should be quite close together.

The numbers in the previous posts are the differences between requested extrusion and actual extrusion. Doesn’t seem like there should be this much variation.

Have you checked the mechanics for no slack?

I suppose I’ll need to. This is a Stealthburner with CW2.
