SV06 lost connection with mcu

Basic Information:

Printer Model: SV06
MCU / Printerboard: SV06 32-bit silent motherboard
Host / SBC: Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W with Waveshare USB hub
klippy(7).log (4.4 MB)

After i tried to print in an enclosure my printer has started to issue lost connection with mcu randomly while printing. i went through like 3 different cables yet the error persists. i looked into the klippy.log and im seeing that the bytes_retransmit value ramps up before shuting down and thats about the extent of my troubleshooting. i dont know if the mcu is at fault or the raspberry pi is and im debating if i should get a new mcu or rpi. The latest info in the klippy log is from when i tried to print sunlu pla+ without the enclosure.

thanks in advance!!

Hello @androo1461 !

Do you have some EMI producing devices near by the printer setup? Like ACs, washing machines, fridges, or other other high power things?

Also, is the RasPi properly cooled?

Thanks for the response!
The printer is far away from any high power appliances and regarding the rpi, when i used the enclosure i made a little hole for cables and had the rpi running dangling outside enclosure, a bit diy but the chip never went past 55C.

The thing is, that the USB chip on the Pi can get quite warm too.

yea to be fair i havent put a heatsink on that like i did with the cpu. the first time i tried to print in the enclosure i didnt move the rpi outside and i did see the mainsail interface freeze soo yea it may be cooked, me routing the cables and the pi after the fact outside was probably not enough. i think ill buy another pi and go from there

Issue fixed, seems the culprit was the hub all along, removed it and everything works perfectly
