"Unable to read tmc uart 'stepper_x' register IFCNT" Issue

MCU / Printerboard: SKR V1.3
Host / SBC: Pi3b+

Hi all, appreciate it if you guys could help me with an issue regarding an error from Klipper (“Unable to read tmc uart ‘stepper_x’ register IFCNT”)

I am facing an issue which Klipper shows me “Unable to read tmc uart ‘stepper_x’ register IFCNT” (Which I guess all other stepper drives will have this issue too)

I have done the following:

  • Jumpers are installed for UART function (XUART, YUART, ZUART and EUART) - Refer to the attached picture - SKR 1.3
  • Standalone pins are removed for the drivers
  • Powered up the board using power supply
  • Even tried connecting another 12V line to the port next to the X-axis stepper motor port
  • Tried swapping the drivers

Hi all, I have solved the issue. Thank you!

The issue was that the TMC 2209 wasn’t in UART mode, so I got to solder two pads together. After soldering those two pads together, it solved the issue.
