Update while printing?

Basic Information:

Printer Model: voron v2.4 350
MCU / Printerboard: octopus v1.1
Host / SBC rpi4
klippy.log not relevant

I looked in the history but cannot find any thread about this. can you update while printing or will it crash you print, spit in your beer and run away laughing?

I expect you cannot but still I feel the need to check!

Hi @3dcase ,

It depends what you’re updating. You should be fine to update Mainsail/Fluidd/KlipperScreen during a print, and even Moonraker might be ok. You definetely cannot update Klipper while printing, though, since it might restart itself.

Since Moonraker doesn’t let you update while printing, you can SSH/PuTTy in and use KIAUH instead.

For a update usually needs a restart of the system - a update during print makes no sense.
