Describe your issue:

I updated my Qidi i-fast printer with a Manta M8P control board running klipper. I’m working on some initial test prints and notice some z-banding/layer inconsistency when printing a benchy. Are there other prints I could run to help troubleshoot what is causing the z-banding? Settings I can check? I’m not using pressure advance. I also updated the print head to a Stealthburner.

Bump - Hey I met a guy on printables.com that has a similar setup of an I-Fast. I am going to attempt to build one also, can you share any build information /specs with me and your Printer config , thanks . his name on printables is below, maybe hit him up , again This is awesome , wish the i- fast had become more popular, I applaud anyone who worked to make them better and to keep them relevant. any guidance you could share would be greatly appreciated

Excellent I just got my Manta in, hopefully will start wiring next week, keep me updated if you tackle it.

I’ve been very happy with my upgrade so far. Since I changed out the printhead for a stealthburner with an inductive z-probe I now have repeatable z-offset and can perform bed leveling. I was really struggling with the z-offset with the stock i-fast. I could get everything level, but then on the next print the first layer would either not touch the plate or get smeared into the plate.

Unfortunately, I’m still fighting the z-banding. It’s much better. I updated the z-axis lead screws and nuts. Now the build plate doesn’t drop when power is lost. The z-axis is overconstained with the connection to the build plate, so that will be my next re-design.
