I recently came in possession of a anet a8 after some research i figured out what it was lol. But i do not want to run the board it has it just looks sketchy to me, so curious if anyone would suggest a board? I would like to run klipper on it as i do with other printers. This is a cheap printer i know, it will simply be a mess around printer… so i was thinking another btt board but unsure what i could use? And what kind of configuration i would have to run?
Now i did not upload anything as i know nothing of this printer so i have only tested that it powers on etc.
LOL, I had this printer as well. Compared to todays standard, it is a pile of electronic waste.
Honestly, I would spend no money on it. There is a config available and using it with its standard board should be sufficient. You will gain no benefit in squeezing in some 400 MHz board.
I do agree with both statements lol i appreciate it, when i first got it free of course guy couldnyt get it to work so gave it to me lol…anyways when i saw it my first thought was a diy prusa which it kinda is but cheaply done…some components are nice but regardless when i saw the board i was worried…
The skr mini boards are exactly what i was thinking mainly cause they are cheap and easy to get…just dont know much about this anet machine. Other option is dismantle and use the parts for a desktop cnc mill enough steppers to probably do a 4 axis…
Oh the debate:thinking:
