BLTouch bricked?

Describe your issue:

I had to clean my hot end after some printing disaster. I also unplugged the BLtouch sensor for easier access to the hotend. After replugging the BLTouch sensor it does not sense anymore if the pin is up or down.

The pin moves well following the BLTOUCH_DEBUG COMMAND=pin_up or BLTOUCH_DEBUG COMMAND=pin_down commands. When running QUERY_PROBE it always reports probe: open regardless of the pin position. I verified the cabling at both ends several times.

Is it possible that I somehow busted the sensor?

That is possible. I’ve already lost a CR-Touch in a similar scenario.

I accidental removed the cable, after reattaching it was dead. But I have to admit that I have reattached the cable without switching everything off, so it seems to be my fault.
