Cannot find mcu ID - Flash Forge Creator Max

Basic Information:

Printer Model: Flash Forge Creator Max (2019)
MCU / Printerboard: Inventor_ControlBoard V0.5 (STM32F4027GT6)
Host / SBC: Libre Computers Le Potato

I don’t have a klippy log because I haven’t even gotten the printer to connect yet, the log still has the information from the previous printer I had connect. (I could be wrong, so please lmk if that would still be useful.)

Describe your issue:

I was given a FF Creator Max by a print farm owner that didn’t need it and I cannot stand the proprietary slicer and how locked down this machine is. I have been running Klipper on 2 other printers for about a year now and I love it, so I decided to try to convert this thing. I will continue to troubleshoot, but I wanted to ask to see if anyone has an idea of what I should try next.

I made a klipper.bin as normal with what I believe are the correct settings for this board and flashed it using this Windows instalation guide · moonglow/FlashForge_Marlin Wiki · GitHub

I know that it says for marlin, but I was being desperate because this board will not flash from an SD card because FF would really like you to connect it to the wifi for firmware updates.

Anyway, it at least overwrote the exist firmware because the screen no longer booted to the menu and it stopped its startup chime.

Only problem is that I cannot get it to show up in /dev/serial and therefore don’t know what to do.

If you have any suggests please lmk. I think I may need to try flashing a different way and/or encrypting and putting on an sd card to flash. Like this: Reddit - The heart of the internet
