Describe your issue:
I have octoprint installed and updated (Using Octo4a on android)
OctoKlipper is installed.
I’ve made my Printer config and pretty sure it’s correct for my setup.
What I can’t do is use the “make menuconfig” command within Octoprint, probably my lack of understanding of the program, but I have reached out on that community for help with that side of things.
I don’t really have another device to run Klipper on (trying on my laptop, but ), but I desperately need the Klipper.Bin file for my setup to flash the Robin Nano via SD card. Otherwise I’ll probably never get communication side going.
Is there an online site or small program I can run where I can enter the printer.cfg and other information to get the bin flash file? What are my options?
You run make menuconfig from SSH, not OctoPrint. This is the same terminal you would have used to install Klipper on your device with KIAUH to begin with.
Actually, there’s generally no need to download/install PuTTY.
SSH can be run from the “terminal” application available on any reasonably recent version of Windows (ie Windows 10 and later) and is available on all versions of Linux and Mac operating systems.
Wait. Octoklipper is NOT KLIPPER. It is a plugin for Octoprint to INTERFACE with klipper.
These guys claim to make it work.
Unfortunately many Android tablets will NOT charge when the OTG usb port is in host mode. Work around is to mod the tablet for a charger attached directly to the battery. That charger is NOT a USB power brick. A LiPo charger of the correct voltage is required.
I’d strongly recommend you find an old PC or buy a Raspberry Pi 2W. The android route is not going to be easy
FWIW I run klipper + klipperscreen on a Microsoft Go tablet ($65 used on eBay). I installed Debian server (easy to do) then Git, KIAUH, Klipper and klipperscreen. Terrible tablet but the display and touchscreen are awesome.
You’ve hit the nail on the head. I’ll research a bit more on getting Klipper installed on to an Android device (rooting would seem the next hurdle) and go the KIAUH route as you have. Failing that I will have to go the Pi route.
