You are just reading the config files and not the source code.
Mostly the Knutwurst variants have different features enabled/set in the config files still with the same firmware code.
So the things you are setting up in your printer.cfg in Klipper is somehow comparable to the parameters in configuration.h and configuration_adv.h in Marlin.
However Marlin needs to be (re)compiled and flashed to the printer but Klipper just needs to be restarted to take changes into effect.

Just want to say thanks for sorting out the config , had 2 mega-x and was worried about changing it over, used the config you posted here and it worked first time.
