Hi All,
Been holding off on posting in any of the various Klipper communities because there is such a great deal of guides and posts already but I’m finally stuck.
System:
-
Ender 3 v2
* Stock except for the following upgrades:
* PEI Bed
* Aluminum Extruder
* Capricorn Bowden Tube
* Microswiss Hardened 0.4mm Nozzle
* Orange bed springs -
Firmware
- Klipper
- Fluidd
-
Slicer
- Started with Cura, switched to SuperSlicer
-
Issue:
-
Poor print quality - stringing and blobs
-
Troubleshooting steps:
-
Preheat bed to operating temp (70C)
-
Manual bed level
-
Mesh bed level using CR touch
-
Set Z-offset with PROBE_CALIBRATE
-
G29
-
Calibrate E-steps
-
Pressure Advance Tuning
-
Firmware Retraction Tuning
-
- Starting at 5mm retraction distance at 40mm/s and working up
-
Tried multiple brands of filament both PLA and PETG
TL;DR: I cant get decent print quality and believe I’ve tried all of the applicable troubleshooting steps. Looking for some direction for what to troubleshoot next.
Should I just pull the trigger on a microswiss direct drive/hot end combo? Was hoping to get the stock extruder and hot end dialed in before upgrading the hardware but I’m starting to think that is the next step.
