I am facing an issue, where sometimes when I heat up my printer, the CRtouch that I recently installed stops working (most of the time). When only the bed is heated up, it works sometimes enough to complete a full bed mesh calibration. However, when the hot end is hot as well, it doesn’t work well. I tried wrapping the CRtouch wires in aluminum to shield them, with no luck. Is that not how shielding works? I couldn’t really find anything online about it. Usually, the CRtouch works for a bit, then stops, then starts working again after a minute or two, but sometimes a full firmware restart is required. Does anyone know how to help? Thanks!
Thanks for the response,
Unfortunately, the CRtouch is just barely out of warranty as it was sitting for a while before I installed it. If I remember correctly, it did work just fine for a bit, however. When the printer is cold, it works without failure, which is rather confusing.
Yes, I have tried those, with no luck. Thanks. Interestingly, the CRtouch is now reporting “Failed to deploy” without the “Failed to verify BLTouch probe is raised; retrying.”. I’m not sure what changed.
Thanks for the help, but I have figured out the issue. To anyone else having a similar issue, it turns out the ender 6 breakout board does not work well with the BLTouch port. To fix the issue, I just bought a long BLTouch cable, and routed it to the main board BLTouch port. Now everything works great.
