Endstop z still triggered after retract

Describe your issue:

…I am using Omron Proximity Switch TL-Q5MC1-Z as my probe. It is mounted as per Voron Stealthburner guide. It is connected to dedicated port for proximity sensor given in BTT Octopus at 24V. The probe is working perfectly fine, I have checked it many times using QUERY_ENDSTOPS. Whenever I home z axis, the axis moves towards the probe and probe gets triggered. The axis stops and then moves in the opposite direction giving the following error “Endstop z still triggered after retract”. What am i missing here?

Have you tried to increase the sample_retract_dist in [probe] ?

Yes, i increased it upto 20, but got the same error. Tried to increase speed also but no luck.

Try increasing homing_retract_dist in the stepper config

homing_retract_dist: 10 worked for me

It worked but sometimes it was again giving the same error. Then I found out that i need to set the probe pin to pull-down. Did that and now it is working completely fine with a retract distance of 5mm.
