Describe your issue:
installed an e3ez board with a CB1 on an ender 3 since im trying to convert it to an enderwire later on, 48v on both X n Y
lowered the run_current to 0.5 but the tmc5160 steppers are running hot compared to the 2209 and I thought they’ll be running cooler than the rest …
not all the time but most of the time can’t even touch them for a while, so put thermistors and they running 50+ sometimes and 35-40 at start up and not sure what’s the issue, the motors aren’t running hot per say but the steppers … and affraid it’ll make them brake or something
thanks for any help or guidance ˆˆ
Hm do you actively cool the stepper drivers?
Stealthchop at least causes more motor heat than SpreadCycle but i never checked my drivers.
Current seems to be reasonable for the printer.
Check with SpreadCycle and interpolate: true for testing purpose.
just the stock ender 3 electronics case for now, as the conversion to an underwire didn’t really start yet
also that’s how I was running it and sometimes its 50+ deg and for now its 45± on idle whilst
Laos tried with the interpolation off and increased the steps to 128 and same thing
