How configure printer without Zprobe? Clear log file?

Basic Information:

Printer Model:Vcore 31
klippy.log (981.2 KB)

MCU / Printerboard: Octopus Pro + EBB42 by USB
klippy.log

Fill out above information and in all cases attach your klippy.log file (use zip to compress it, if too big). Pasting your printer.cfg is not needed

Describe your issue:

Hi,

As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m trying to install Beacon3d, but it gives me an error, it seems that I can’t find it in the configuration…

So I’m going to change strategy…

Set up the printer without Zprobe, so once you have the rest of the printer working, set up Beacon. But I have some questions:

  • Can you configure a klipper WITHOUT zprobe? (As)
  • It sounds to me that at some point I saw how to configure it by making the motors themselves the Zprobe

I’ve Googled for a while and haven’t seen how to do it… does anyone have a link?

Another thing is that I have been looking at the klippy.log… but it is very large… is there any way to empty it? or delete it?

Hi, you can go to your Machine/Config section and reset the klippy log here. After this the firmware restarts.

Are you referring to sensorless homing?

Here you can find information on how it works:
https://www.klipper3d.org/TMC_Drivers.html?h=sensorless#sensorless-homing
Please keep in mind that homing the Z axis may not be accurate enough and could result in an inconsistent first layer height.
If you want to test the functionality, but not print, you could set up an endstop for z. This can be done with a limit switch or two wires that you can connect manually. If you do this, ensure that you trigger early. There is no need for the nozzle to be actually at the build plate.
I hope this has been helpful.
