Klipper connecting to Wi-Fi, but not showing IP address

Basic Information:

Printer Model: Anycubic Kobra (Klipperized as per this discourse Klipper install Anycubic kobra 2)
MCU / Printerboard: ?HC32F460?
Host / SBC: Raspberry Pi 5 (including KlipperScreen)
klippy.log (Can’t as explained below)

Normally, I have the printer set up on a Static IP.

Describe your issue:

Loaded a new filament and started doing a temperature tower as a first print, print failed on a ‘max temp exceeded’ error and I restarted the printer (firmware & host).

After the restart, I wasn’t able to connect to the printer again (using Mainsail).

Restarted the printer a couple more times with no luck.

Went into the settings and connectivity section on KlipperScreen; it is connected to my Wi-Fi, but the IP address section just shows a ‘?’… Sigh…

Thought I’d go look for it on my Wi-Fi router settings but also can’t find it.

Is there anything I can do on the KlipperScreen section to fix/troubleshoot this issue?

WEBA @JHP !

How do you tell it is connected?

Hi

I can tell it is connected on the KlipperScreen, it shows my network and then (Connected)

Plug a keyboard into your Pi. Try [ESC], Ctrl+Q and ‘Alt+F4’. One of should drop you to the terminal. Use NMCLI to debug your connection.

Can you connect with SSH with the static IP? You may need to find the IP in your router client list or an ap like wireshark if the static IP fails.

Or read the documents…

Thanks for your reply, I will try this in the next day or so.

No I can’t SSH with the static IP (I was able to do this before). I also cannot find the IP in my router ‘Connected Devices’ section.

Thank you for this, I will read the docs and try the suggestions.

On Option 2, I disconnected my Pi from the printer last night and carried it over to connect a LAN cable into the router - then it works fine as expected. Decided to order a long enough LAN cable to wire it in permanently (3D printer is located in the far side of my house, this isn’t the first time that Wi-Fi has been an issue).

I also tried having running a script to make my Pi mount USB drives, but no luck on that unfortunately (here is the advice I followed Google Search)

Thanks again, will report back if I find anything tonight.

WiFi started working again this morning (don’t know why).

I got the USB running following this GitHib script GitHub - Kanrog/klipper-usb-copy: automatic USB drive file copy for Klipper · GitHub

Will just run a permanent LAN cable to avoid the WiFi issue in the future.
