I have an ender 3 v3 plus which runs creality OS but I’d much rather have it connected to full klipper. I’ve seen people successfully use the ender 3 v3 se with klipper but not the v3 or v3 plus. Has anyone been able to use it with the v3 plus?
Hello @Khisanthax !
The Ender 3 V3 Plus comes with it’s own Klipper ecosystem (mangled by Creality).
The most easy way to run the printer on genuine Klipper is
- A new printer board
- A SBC (e.g. Raspberry Pi)
You may have a look here: 3D Printers with Preinstalled and Modified Klipper Versions
I have a mini PC that runs four printers already and if I were to do this would want to add the v3 plus to that machine.
My initial concern with flashing the board with klipper is that it uses a strain sensor for z offset and bed mesh, so I didn’t know if there was a config that could handle this or if I would just lose it? And secondly if there was a firmware for this printer/board.
This printer, I believe, has a breakout board on the back and that complicated things if I want to replace the board.
I’ll take a look at the link!
P.S. mangled is generous
