Describe your issue:

I’m stuck trying to flash firmware on my Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo and could really use some advice. I’ve tried multiple firmware options and methods, but the printer isn’t showing any signs of flashing—no update screen, no changes, just the usual menu. I’m now thinking about replacing the main board, but I’m unsure about compatibility. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

What I’ve Tried

Firmware Variants:** I’ve tested every firmware I could find, including the stock Anycubic firmware, to see if anything sticks. No dice.

  1. SD Card Setup:**
  • Used an 8GB SD card with only firmware.bin on it.
  • Switched to a new 4GB SD card purchase from amazon with only `firmware.bin** on it.
  • Ensured no other files were on either card.
  1. Flashing Attempts:
  • Inserted the SD card, waited a few minutes, powered off, waited, then powered back on.
  • Also tried powering off and on immediately after inserting the card.
  • Result: No indication of flashing—no progress screen, no updates, nothing.

I’m considering a mainboard replacement that supports the Kobra 2 Neo and Klipper, but I can’t find clear info on compatible options. Do you guys have any recommendations for third-party mainboards compatible with the Kobra 2 Neo and Klipper? Any tips or tricks for what should I watch out for if I go this route (e.g., wiring changes, firmware tweaks)?

Extra Details

  • I’m aiming to run Klipper, but I can’t even get the stock firmware to flash, so I suspect a hardware or process issue.
  • Since the firmware is not yet flashed on the printer, the error log from my Klipper instance is probably not useful.

I’d love any suggestions or insights you have! Happy to share more details if it helps. Thanks so much for reading!

So, I got a response from anycubic’s support about them sending a new board even though I’m pretty sure I’m past their support. I’m not complainging though. I’ll report back if I’m having a similar problem with the new board once it comes.
