Hello everyone,
I’ve had a Kobra 2 Neo for a while now and have been running it successfully with Klipper. I recently bought a used Kobra 2 and wanted to flash it to Klipper, but no matter what I tried, it wouldn’t start the flash process. Oh yes, I control my 3D printer via an additional PC with Linux. When I try to read the ID with ls dev serial by id, it only shows me 1, even when both printers are connected to the PC, both are shown with ttyusb0 and usb 1 via dmseg. I’ve also tried all the suggestions in other forums, but nothing helps. Do you have any ideas what I could try? It recognizes the SD card with print files, but when I load the firmware onto it, the printer doesn’t start anything except starting normally.

Hello @Der_Ozzy !

Welcome Der_Ozzy,

installation of Klipper on an Anycubic Kobra 2 seems to be a bit unusual. I don’t own or know the printer.

@Function3D wrote a good manual Klipper install Anycubic kobra 2 - #123 by Function3D
The whole topic is quite interesting to read.

Good luck, hcet14

thanks for the answer and the tip, I’ll read it through and give feedback if it worked

Checkout this thread:

I used the same manual and got “Endstop y still triggered after retract” Errors

I’ve tried everything I could find but the Kobra 2 won’t flash. It recognizes the SD card if there are print files on it but if only the firmware is on it and I switch the printer on, nothing happens except that it starts normally. I’m going to buy a different board and run Klipper on it.

Did you rename the file from klipper.bin to firmware.bin?

Yes, I have. I have also tried it with different versions. Even with the original firmware it won’t flash.

did you do it according to the anycubic manual?

Yes, I have that but the beep doesn’t come, just the typical sound when switching on and the start animation and then it goes straight to the main menu and even after waiting for a while nothing happens. I don’t know what else I can do, everything works, printing via SD card and controlling it via pronterface also works. And it can’t be flashed via USB either.

I fear, you overwrote your bootloader.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found anything about the bootloader on this board, how to repair it or reinstall it, so I’ll probably replace it. Do you have a recommendation for a plug & play version? A simple one is enough.

I have absolutely no experience with Huada microcontrollers!

I would give something like that GitHub - shadow578/OpenHC32Boot: experimental bootloader for HC32F460 series MCU a try.
