So I think it’s always about the same height but I keep getting layer shifts on the y axis any thoughts where I can start?
The Y axis is using linier rails.
I think the current is set to 0.900. As I have a 400 x 400 heated bed with 4mm thick glass it’s pretty heavy but haven’t had the issue when I was on marlin.
When my bed slinger started layer shifting, I finally found that the grub screws on the steeper pulley were a little loose, so as the motor switched direction, the pulley grub screw for the flat side of the motor shaft would turn until the grub screw would bind. And then, sometime later, during a direction change, it would do it but in the opposite direction.
Reseat the grub screws for the motor pulleys; tighten the flat side first, then the 2nd one.
I have active cooling for the drivers but not the stepper Motors to be able to run the motors at that current would make the motor way to hot without cooling on them too.
Sorry that was supposed to be a question not a statement.
I boosted the y stepper to 1.100 and got better clips which has seemed to stop the layer shift. Now got to work on honing in the e steps though if I get the e steps in perfect then would I have to mess around with flow?
Ah ok cheers I thought they may go hand in hand but I suppose you would have to do a flow calibration every time you change filament? I’m trying to get into Orca slicer but not sure where to find the flow rate? I can see there is like three flow settings like internal flow, bottom layer flow and top layer flow. No idea which to change.
