@Miller This thread is over long as it is. I recommend you create a new post asking for advice on hardware. Include a brief summary of the changes you made to get klipper operating, a link to this thread, and details on your stepper motors. Don’t forget to include a current klippy.log
Also, post the summary here and mark it as the solution.
I beg to differ. All the posts are around the Leapfrog Bolt pro. Let’s ask Eddy.
I would suggest a short www research before buying. Particularly on board CAN might cause problems. Klipper does not support CAN FD! I wish CAN FD since some time https://klipper.discourse.group/t/support-for-can-fd. Really, my best bit of advice is read, read, read…
Always have a look in the Klipper documentation which drivers are supported.
I think you will need a printer board which supports at least 9 steppers. To make this printer a state of the art printer you’ll need two more steppers for your printer bed. The keyword is ‘auto bed leveling’.
I strongly recommend steppers in the ‘step stick’ form factor!
Don’t start searching for a board which fulfills above requirements. At least, I don’t know such a board, but there are many driver extensions available.
