Loose steps by heat?

Hi,

I continue with the problems in the extrusion, after a few layers it stops extruding…

It does not do it 100 to nothing, but it extrudes less and less until it stops extruding… Then I guess the clog doesn’t let it go… When it’s going to fail, I hear it, I notice that the motor jumps steps… As if it didn’t have the strength to push the filament

The extruding test before start printing… Are ok (200 mm at 20mm/s)… Maybe some puntual jump

Is there a way to know if the engine has lost steps? Or if the temperature is very high? (in Driver or engine)

what are the safe temperatures? At what voltage do you recommend that the motor of an extruder, nema 14, work, I have it at 0.7,

Sure, the drivers can get hot, very hot. So ensure a proper active cooling. Also the stepper motors can get hot too. The more current you use, the more both get hot.

What filament do you use and at whet temperature do you extrude?

If you hear a stepper clicking, it loses steps.

You can hear it here just at the start

0.7 A is quite a good value for a Nema 14. Is it a geared extruder?

What kind of extruder do you use: All metal or one with a PTFE tube down to the nozzle?
With both: Take care you don’t have any gaps between the nozzle and the heatbreak. Don’t retract too much.

I am trying print pla 195/70…

You might increase the temp by 5°C
