[save_variables] Variables are deleted

Basic Information:

Printer Model: Coustom Cartesian
MCU / Printerboard: Rambo
Host / SBC Raspberry Pi
klippy.log

The saved variables of my 3D printers keep getting lost since this week. The printers have been in use with Klipper for several months and have never caused any problems. The saved_variables.cfg file is then completely empty. I can then recalibrate the printer and determine the values again. A few printers have not lost the values since then. One for the third time already. I have attached the Klippy log of this printer.

klippy_Klipper.zip (576.8 KB)

Here are all variables saved:

[save_variables]
filename: /home/pi/klipper_config/saved_variables.cfg

Hi @lukas_m5 ,

Are you sure about the path?

/home/pi/klipper_config/

Most Klipper installations have their configurations located here:

/home/pi/printer_data/config/

Yes, thats the path, I can access it over putty and winscp. I attached the file.
I’m using Repetier-Server, but this should make no difference.
saved_variables.cfg (1.2 KB)

The Problem doesen’t appear any more. I changed two things, but I don’t really know which one was the solution.

I changed the OS from Linux Bullseye to Bookworm.

And I changed the variable handling. Before I was using the varables on the SD Card a lot. I’m using more global variables now and the SD Card variables are only read while the printer start and only written when really necessary.
