The mark on the chip is normal, that’s no damage. I too recommend installing CanBoot first… I’ve done it that way and it’s been working great. Also, on a side note, I highly recommend setting the txqueuelen value to 1024, 128 has a much higher chance of a lost package causing a connection break.

When you compile the firmware… is there any difference between doing So: 1 - cd ~/klipper/ 2 - make clean 3 - make menuconfig or in this other directory… I seem to remember that I have seen that there are guides that do it in /canboot…
