What Are Your Issues With Current Core-xy Printers

Hello,

I would like to know what your biggest pet peeves are about current core-xy printers! Reason being I would like to create a printer that abolishes all of the issues associated with current printers.

Happy Printing,
Blake

For the most part, I find the CoreXY to be a fairly optimized architecture. There are, however, a couple of things I’d like to see how they can be better designed (and I’ve taken a few stabs at them myself):

  1. Difficulty threading the X/Y toothed belts throughout the X/Y frame and gantry (Voron 2.4 - I’m a lookin’ at you).
  2. Toohead cable and filament path that don’t interfere with the movement of the toolhead or each other.

I’ll be interested in hearing what other people have to say.

Hello,

I personally don’t like the noise, I would like to find out ways to make them quieter.

Happy Printing,
Blake

I am not sure why you are focusing on the noise. My Voron 2.4 is substantially quieter than my heavily modified CR-10S Pro… FWIW, good quality linear rails & belt path bearings will precludeany excessive noise.

Id have to agree with myke on the belt routing would be something to be designed better, as for noise most i have experienced arent actually that bad, when i finally fixed my ender 6 issues i took it out of stealth mode and it ended up being alot better for noise believe it or not. now the k1 is ridiculously loud when it gets going on speed prints unless on a slab of concrete lol…bambu labs i really like for noise and just overall design kinda.
Personally id like to see some doors better designed, maybe even quick release for removal?
All corexy should just natively have a cable chain type setup, it is super annoying with the toolhead getting caught etc.

Hello,

@ReXT3D I have a cr-10 as well, so. . .
