Wifi issues when screen is connected

Thanks @hcet14 for the very helpful reply.

I had minor success using longer standoffs, but connection was still spotty and had just about given up. I believe the usage of the screen ribbon cable is just too much near field disturbance and ends up just completely de-tuning the antenna.

I ended up pulling the caps off, cutting the traces, installing the UFL connector with an external antenna and it is rock solid now with the screen in place.

Could you post some pictures of it? An external usb antenna can do the job?

I purchased a longer ribbons cable. I will try this weekend

If I use a longer cable (15cm) and don’t attach the raps to the back of the screen, it works!
So it’s definitely a radio-frequency problem. I’m surprised that a standard combination like this doesn’t work.
But now I have a new problem. My webcam and screen don’t work together…argggg
