Describe your issue:
…
No log as I have the printer turned off currently.
An update was present today in the Machine Tab of Mainsail for Klipper so I applied it.
Since doing it, my BL Clone has stopped working. It no longer deploys as part of homing (G28) and the nozzle crashes into the bed.
I made no other changes so my guess is it’s something in the new version.
Is there a way to roll-back to test if it was the version?
I have gone through all the BL configs. Manually I can get the probe to raise and lower, but it doesn’t work as an endstop for nozzle height.
Any help would be appreciated. I have a print I need to get done and I am out of commission till I can figure it out.
If only you had posted the klippy.log like you were asked to you would probably get a more immediate answer.
I would think that it’s highly unlikely that a change to Mainsail would stop your BLTouch (Clone) from working.
While you’re powering up your machine, can you check to see if you BLTouch (Clone) tests itself (usually be extending and retracting the probe a couple or three times).
Next, test the probe by following the instructions here:
It turns out that the magnet/screw needed to be adjusted.
It never occurred to me that it would be a point of adjustment over time as this is my first BL based probe.
I also thought it would have been weird if a klipper update would nuke it, but, based on the change to measuring resonance, I thought perhaps it could be something that was changed.
Either way, I am up and running again and I really do appreciate your guidance.
I’ve found that BL Touch clones are finnicky beasts - the genuine article is generally a lot better (there’s a reason why it’s so much more expensive).
I’m glad to hear you’re back up and running. Have fun!
