CR Touch problem with octopus v1.1

Basic Information:

Printer Model: DIY corexy
MCU / Printerboard: BTT octopus v1.1
klippy.log

I am having a hell of a time getting a CR touch working with Klipper on the octopus v1.1
was working on a creality 4.2.7 board, just fine and responded to debugging commands.
finally got it to respond at least partly to debugging commands on the octopus.

when commanded down, it pops down and back up, but won’t stay down long enough to probe.

Im using

sensor_pin:^PB7
control_pin:!PB6

as pin assignment.

any suggestions?

thanks
Duke

Fill out above information and in all cases attach your klippy.log file (use zip to compress it, if too big). Pasting your printer.cfg is not needed

Describe your issue:

For now I have given up on the cr touch with octopus

I mounted a trusty Z limit switch, but I would like to know if anyone has a configuration that works with these touch probes.

I bought the octopus used and it was using a cr touch on the setup I pulled it from with klipper on a creality sonic pad.

I even looked at the configuration file from the sonic pad and tried that, no luck.

I’m thinking it must be a wiring issue.
I’ve ordered another touch probe but am going to do some more reading before I try to hook it up.

Thanks

Typical issues:

  • Wiring issue
  • Dead probe
  • Wrong setting, see BL-Touch - Klipper documentation
  • “Wrong” pin, sometimes the dedicated probe pins on the board won’t work but a repurposed endstop pin does work or vice versa
  • Missing or surplus pull-up, aka ^ in the pin definition

3v3 logic on board and CRTouch is 5v logic?

Are you sending 3v3 to power the probe or 5v?

I’ve tried 2 different probes, both creality cr touch, tried 2 different sets of wires.

Gone over the wiring diagram several times.

I haven’t actually checked the Voltage coming from the board, but I can’t imagine BTT would put 3v coming to a plug designed specifically for a touch probe like this.
