Dudes over update to 0.11

Hi,

I have some doubts about updating Klipper to version 0.11.

I have some questions. I have an Octopus Pro + EBB42 + U2C board installed…

  • Do I have to update the firmware of the EBB42 board?
  • I have to update the firmware of the U2C?
  • For these updates, I have to do it by the procedure that I installed them… that is, compiling the firmware in rPi, and then connecting them to the PC, to flash them with STM32 programmer?

For every update applies:

If your system runs fine → keep it.
If you need one or more of the new features → update.
If you want to support the creator → update.

I’d add: if you want to have your issues addressed → update.

Requesting fixes on downlevel software does not have high percentages of being prioritized.

Klipper is basically a rolling release. There’s no such thing as backporting fixes. Klipper versions are just tags at a moment in time when the software is deemed stable, and new features are often held for merging after a “release”.
