Describe your issue:

on a new install on a HP ProDesk running linux mint and an ender 3 with 2.2.7 board and cr touch. i have tried multiple cables and all ports but nothing has worked.

A simple look into the log would probably have brought you further:

mcu 'mcu': Unable to open serial port: [Errno 2] could not open port /dev/ttyS4, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xf0e0: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/ttyS4, UART: 16550A, Port: 0xf0e0'

Where did you find the information that this construct is a valid connection string?

Follow Issues flashing the printer board

For a printer that has apparently never worked before your entire config seems pretty complex and overloaded. Maybe it would be better to start completely over with Installing Klipper with KIAUH and get the basics working.

You’re not accurately interpreting what @Sineos is saying.

First off, are you sure it’s a “2.2.7” Creality mainboard? I would expect it to be a “4.2.2” or “4.2.7” - could you post an image of the board?

Secondly, setting up Klipper with a laptop/desktop will be a challenge due to various processes running in the system - this is why a Raspberry Pi or other Single Board Computer is recommended for Klipper (and Octoprint/Marlin, when you get right down to it). It can be done but it does require an expert level of knowledge and skill when working with Linux systems. If you take a few moments searching on “Mint” on this site you’ll see the challenges that people have faced with it.

Finally, you were asked a typical question regarding the connection you’ve specified which is the start of helping you get things working you pitched a fit.

Hopefully you have the patience to work with us to help you get your printer working.

Regards.
