Although I am no electrician (I’m a mechanical engineer with a working knowledge of electronics), logic would seem to indicate that the power is coming from the 12V PSU and shorting at some point after it connects to the Trigorilla. I checked the voltage off of the USB Casing and it matches what my PSU is outputting. This would indicate that the issue lies with the printers wiring/board. I will attempt to replace it and will post my results incase anyone else has this issue.
So… i tested with a new board and the problem is identical. Still overloading. However, I plugged it into my laptops usb instead of the linux PC with no issue.
Honestly, im not sure. I guess the problem could be the grounding of the PC or the PSU… so no progress
call agree electrican for check your home electric installation , quickly , dont touch earth in 240V socket
I believe my grounding is fine, I live in a flat that is maintained and no one else has issue. I believe the issue is either with the PSU or my PC. I will attempt to switch out both to isolate variables

Two questions:
- Where do you live?
- Do you run the devices on the same extension cord?
possible , but , caution ! , if work fine in portable computer , this is because it is isolated from the earth !!!
this forum and all member is not responsible in case of injury due to bad earth in your home
I live in the states, and they are on separate extension chords, although I have tried them on the same as well.
So no risk to to touch the earth contact by accident.
A most unexpected turn of events…
We have a roomba (one of those autonomous vacuum robots) and as it was cleaning, it caught the power cable of the PSU and knocked it on the ground. I ran over and checked to see if it was damaged. I noticed a rattling inside… so I opened it up. And to my surprise I found this:
!
Turns out, a jumper from my breadboard kit had fallen into the casing and was shorting the internals to the casing! That is why it was dumping everything to ground.
Thank you all for your input and taking the time to help!!
