Stepper_y error

klippy.log (7.7 MB)

Hello everyone,
I’m having a recurring issue with my 3D printer running Klipper firmware. I frequently get errors related to stepper_y like the ones shown in the screenshots below. Some of the errors include:

  • ShortToSupply_A, OpenLoad_B!
  • drv_err=1(ErrorShutdown!)
  • ShortToSupply_B, OpenLoad_A

These cause Klipper to shut down, and I need to manually restart the firmware. The issue happens randomly — sometimes during homing, sometimes while printing. I’ve double-checked wiring and connectors. The stepper motor and driver appear to be functioning normally when restarted.

What might be the cause of this? Could this be a hardware issue (driver/motor), or is it possible a configuration issue (e.g., current too high)?
I’d appreciate your help and insight.

Hi @rkutun ,

Those errors typically indicate issues with the stepper wiring. If the issue is intermittent, it could indicate that there’s too much bare wire at the connector, leading to intermittent shorts whenever the stepper cable moves. I would check your stepper wiring carefully.
