Unable to connect mcu on skr 1.2 ubuntu raspberry pi 5

hi
i just installed klipper on raspberry pi and skr pro 1.2
but it cant detect mcu
i tried few ways but they didnt help
my os is ubuntu i dont know its because of that or something else but it doesnt have /dev/serial

Could you provide:

  1. Your klippy.log as requested when you started the post
  2. What model of Raspberry Pi you’re using
  3. How you are connecting the Raspberry Pi to the SKR PRO 1.2. Please include how you are powering the two boards. A hand drawn schematic and photograph of your set up is helpful.

hi
im using raspberry pi 5 8gb
with ubuntu as os
and usb connection
idont think klippr.log is the problem because i cant find the board at the first place

i tested that on windows system to ans window didnt recognize any connection

can i use can bus ord uart with ubuntu and raspberry pi ?

We need the klippy.log anyway for further information.

ok but i didnt config anything yet
here is the file :
klippy(1).log (200.2 KB)

In the second two connection attempts, for your connection, you’re using:

[mcu]
serial = /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Klipper_Klipper_firmware_12345-if00

How did you verify that is correct?

Did you use:

lsusb

i didnt
as i said i didnt config anything it was just a test
i tryed using ttl to usb convertor within works very well thank
but still when I set usb and connect the board directly with usb cables Linux cant identify it

Could you please explain:

  1. What you are trying to accomplish.
  2. How you are going about it. This includes:
= A description of your hardware and interconnections. Personally, I like to see how things are wired
= A description of the software you are running. This includes how you programmed your main controller board and host
  3. What your are observing. klippy.log is an excellent tool for that and gives us an idea of what’s happening

Two questions for you:

  1. Why are you using Ubuntu on the Raspberry Pi and not the Raspberry Pi OS? I don’t think I’ve ever seen an instance where somebody uses a Ubuntu on a Raspberry Pi with Klipper
  2. Did you create a new version of Klipper, specifying that communications uses USB, and loaded it onto the SKR 1.2 main controller board?

Please keep in mind that we are not mind readers, the fields for information that you ignored when you filled out the original post helps us understand what the issues are.
