Yet another z-offset question, odd setup

Basic Information:

Printer Model: CR-10 V3
MCU / Printerboard: Creality 3D v2.5.2
Host / SBC: Creality Sonic Pad
klippy.log
Printer.cfg

Aloha. Running a really weird setup here, Cr-10 V3 with Klipper via Creality Sonic Pad. I snagged that at the time because it was too hard to come across a Pi. Long story short, can’t get the Printer.cfg to update the correct offset. I calibrate the probe via paper trick and the bed is on fixed points. It SAVES Z-offset correctly at 2.5mm from the probe, but printer.cfg will still show 2.675 in the unmodifiable section at the bottom.

I switched to Orca Slicer and havent yet seen where to enter start gcode, but noticed it had no start or end script in the printer.cfg so added those. Zoffset issue is present before and after. Small issue, the sonic pad no longer gives me the opportunity to set/calibrate zoffset or probe details AFTER adding start script, console only.

Hello @Praxeum07 !

Sorry, no support.

I mean… I get it. But it would still be a valid Klipper configuration issue even if the words “Creality sonic pad” were omitted…

Would be yes, if the Sonic Pad did not use a modified and crippled Klipper version that may exhibit non-standard behavior.

But I’ll give you some hints:

According to the provided information, this never happened as your printer-board never connected sucessfully to the Pad due to:

[mcu]
serial: /dev/serial/by-id/usb_serial_1
