Hi all
I bulit a coreXY printer with Klipper and it’s working quite good, beside one problem I have:
If I “pause” and “cancel” a running print job BLTouch stops working doesn’t matter what command I send.
The only thing I can do is a firmware_restart. If I don’t so, it ends in a crash between hotend and bed.
Beside this I have the same issue reported here: #5229
Configuration is mainsail, btt octopuss, original BLTouch
After a firmware restart everything works perfect again and there are no problems with bltouch beside the two described above.
I’ve seen similar issues listed for problems with the BLT working after cancel/pause, such as this locked thread.
Haven’t seen any where a solution was posted. But the one above shows the consistency of the problem with the Sprite print head. I know this isn’t your build, but stay with me here…
In this old Medium article it discusses the “BLTouch failed to verify sensor state” error and mentions a possible cause being power loss.
This lead me to think how the sprite extruder has a separate/sub control board that acts as a junction box for several of the extruder mechanisms, with various leads for power coming off that PCB.
So I ran a new wire from the BLTouch directly to the main board and haven’t had a problem since. Hopefully, a similar solution may help you? Please don’t forget to come back and let others know if it does.
