Connection to MCU Issue

Basic Information:

Printer Model: Vovelab Aquila x2 w/Sprite & BLT
MCU / Printerboard: N32g455 v1.0.1

klippy.log (5.4 KB)
printer.cfg (3.9 KB)

Fill out above information and in all cases attach your klippy.log file (use zip to compress it, if too big). Pasting your printer.cfg is not needed

Describe your issue:

I can see in the Klippy.log that the connection to the MCU is failing and it seems to say the proper address/ID is incorrect but as per the printer.cfg file which I’ve changed it to the appropriate address/ID it still Isn’t connecting. I’ve looked and read through everything twice but I’ve either missed something or I’m going nuts !!! Probably both… Any Help/Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The config file Klipper is expecting is /home/pi/printer_data/config/printer.cfg
Make sure to edit the correct one.

Hey m8, cheers for the fast response……lets pretend for a minute that I’m just a dumb old diesel mechanic whose been laid up at home after a hip replacement and spinal surgery 8 weeks apart !! I’m good with my hands so I decided to play around with my old printer and upgrade it while I was rehabbing…let’s pretend that !! lol. I’m a little bit out of my comfort zone with the programming talk, don’t get me wrong I’ll have a go at fixing anything, it’s in my dna !! I was directed to a video… “Join Klipper it’s soo easy” they said…Did that, I followed it exactly and here’s where I am. I’ve changed mainboards in the printer (H32 chipped to N32) gone through everything on my Macbook several times and finally borrowed a Windows laptop to try it all over again. So I’ve had a good crack, within my skill set and knowledge base but I’m just coming up short. I’ve had some kid on discord get smart with me because I couldn’t keep up with him on the keyboard…. I’m 59 with 2 fingers missing off my right hand so yeh I’m a bit slow. I just need someone to explain it slowly and concisely and I can follow directions very well. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I’m about start from scratch again and this time run mainsail instead. But to be honest I understand what you mean but I have no idea how to fix/change it !! Cheers for the response.

Get well soon!

Well, there is a certain learning curve, but I promise the result is worth the “hassle”

Mainsail or fluidd does not make any difference in the end.

Option 1

The “Configuration” tab in the webinterface should take you to the correct printer.cfg to edit.

Option 2

To have a clean start, you may carefully and methodically work through Installing Klipper with KIAUH
